Microneedling

Microneedling is a collagen-inducing procedure where tiny sterile needles are inserted into the skin repeatedly with a professional-only grade Microneedling Microessence Pen. These microscopic skin punctures tell your body that it’s time to create more collagen and this allows for the many benefits of the treatment to take root.

What Are The Benefits Of Microneedling?

Our microneedling treatments provide an array of skin-rejuvenating benefits and our all-natural products give you an added dose of peace of mind when it comes to what’s going on your body.

Microneedling and Cosmetic acupuncture are beautifying processed that are often used to address:

• Wrinkles and fine lines, especially those around the eyes and mouth

• Redness and rosacea

• The appearance of acne scars

• Hyperpigmentation (melasma), whether it is hormonal or from the sun

Microneedling/cosmetic acupuncture also give you that well-kept-skin glow as it tones and tightens, making your face look and feel radiant and more healthy.

Choosing Microneedling Over Chemical Peels Or Other Treatments

While you have several options when it comes to treating fine lines, many of them are invasive. And when it comes to hyperpigmentation or melasma, the effective treatment options are very limited.

So, getting a series of microneedling treatments at Integrated Health Center allows you to skip the harsh chemical peels and moisturizing creams that make big claims but can’t deliver.

It also means less downtime post-treatment which is an unmistakable advantage of receiving microneedling over other treatment options.

Instead, you’ll get results you can see using products you can feel good about.

 Microneedling Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ’s

Does microneedling hurt?

Microneedling is designed to be less invasive and painful than harsh chemical peels that promise the same results.
While the procedure is not necessarily pain-free, clients often report that it’s not very painful.
At Integrated Health Center there is the option to use an aloe vera lidocaine cream to numb the area before your treatment.

Can microneedling help with dark spots, melasma, or hyperpigmented skin on my face?

Yes! Microneedling is an excellent alternative to chemical peels for those with melasma. The treatment skips the invasive chemicals and the extended downtime associated with chemical peels.

Can microneedling change the look of my scars?

The effect of microneedling on the appearance of scars depends on the scar itself. Things like the severity and age of a scar as well as things like prolonged sun exposure or retraumatizing the area can all impact how much of a difference you notice with microneedling treatment. Patients who keloid easily should should not get microneedling for their scars.

If you have post-acne scars, surgery scars, or even C-section scars microneedling can help smooth your skin and soften scar tissue while improving discoloration.

It’s important to note that softening doesn’t mean removing and so the treatment will not remove the scar. It can make the visual signs of the scar less evident and that can be a great help.

What’s the downtime requirement like for microneedling treatment?

Unlike vampire facials and chemical peels, there is little to no downtime required after a microneedling procedure.

Most patients are red for 8-12 hours. Exercise and your normal makeup routine may resume 24 hours post treatment.

Is Microneedling the same as a Vampire Facial?

No, vampire facials are not the same procedures as microneedling. There is no blood involved like in a vampire facial. At most you can experience some redness and a tingling sensation after microneedling. Most patients are able to go out the night of their treatment if they wish, unlike if you have a vampire facial.

Do you use PRP (platelet rich plasma)?

No. Integrated Health Center’s Microneedling approach instead uses high-quality, preservative free, high molecular weigh hyaluronic acid to achieve results without the intensity or added cost of platelet-rich plasma. Therefore, you can receive excellent results for a fraction of the cost of a typical PRP treatment.

How often can I schedule my microneedling appointments?

You can schedule your microneedling appointments two to four weeks apart. This gives your skin time to regenerate. However, nanoneeding and cosmetic acupuncture can be done at on a weekly basis.

What is the difference between microneedling and cosmetic acupuncture?

Cosmetic acupuncture can be used to lift and firm the skin. It best treats the neck, cheeks and eye lids. It addresses the whole body, the patient’s constitution, focusing on the source rather than just the symptom. The average patient sees results between 12 and 24 treatments.

What are the similarities between microneedling and cosmetic acupuncture?

Microneedling and cosmetic Acupuncture are both based on 2,000 medical Chinese medical principles moving Qi and blood and engendering flesh. Both increase the body’s keratinocytes and stem cell which produces more collagen and elastin in the face. Dr. Occhipinti, as a Doctor of Acupuncture, is board certified to perform both cosmetic acupuncture and microneedling.
